Half of the paraguayan territory is been taken by the Chaco. This Plane begins in the north of Argentina, the south of Bolivia and the south west of Brazil. It is known for its richness of animals. You can find pumas, tapirs, wild pigs and lots of different birds. In the north you find the national park “Defensores del Chaco”. With more than 780 000 hectare it is the biggest park in Paraguay. In the 1920th the Mennonites founded colonies Fernheim, Menno and Neuland under very difficult circumstances. Today some indian tribes are living in the Chaco. So for example we have the Tupi and the Chiriguano Guaraní. In the north of Argentina the Chané. We also have the Toba and Wichi that do not belong to the Guaraní. On our three days trip you will have the possibility to get an impression of this bizarre but beautiful landscape.
